Before you start
You can enter an Advanced article directly. You do not need to complete a Learn pathway first, own a Product or prove a permanent level.
If an article exposes a foundation you need to strengthen, use the relevant refresher and come back when it helps. A refresher is support for a real gap, not an unlock requirement.

Advanced, professional and specialist are not the same thing
Advanced describes the level of judgement a task requires: more interacting variables, harder trade-offs, diagnosis, adaptation and consequences that cannot be solved by one fixed procedure.
Professional describes a real working context. Being paid, playing publicly or using expensive equipment does not prove Advanced capability.
Specialist describes deeper subject-specific expertise. Specialist knowledge may overlap with Advanced work, but neither label automatically implies the other.
These are different ideas, not steps on one status ladder.
